Friuli is a land that invites exploration in every direction. To the north, Udine with its welcoming squares; to the south, Trieste and its Mitteleuropean atmosphere reflected in the Adriatic Sea. In between lie millennia of history: Cividale del Friuli, Italy’s first Lombard capital; the Roman city of Aquileia; and the star-shaped city of Palmanova. At the heart of it all, the rows of Talis Wine’s vineyards stretch out, quiet, orderly, and tireless.
Our wines, both white and red, authentically reflect this land: they carry its aromas, colors, and identity. In Friulian, “Talis” refers to the medicinal dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) that grows abundantly among the rows, dotting the vineyard first with a luminous green, then with an intense yellow, and finally with a soft white. One of the most genuine and vibrant elements of this landscape, the most sincere connection to our land.
The rivers and streams of Friuli flow tirelessly, shaping the soil they flow through for millennia. It is within this ancient balance - among the red soils, the gravelly pebbles, and the marl and loam of the alluvial sediments - that Talis’ grapes grow slowly, nourished by the ceaseless flow of water and the complexity of a land unlike any other.
